Who is Nambi Narayanan?
Nambi Narayanan, he was born on December 12, 1941. He is an Indian aerospace engineer who previously worked for ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization). In 2019, the Government of India awarded him the Padma Bhushan.
He oversaw the team that secured French technology for Vikas engine powering India’s first PSLV. He was the Chief Director of the Cryogenic Division of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). He attended the Thiagarjar Institute of Technology in Madurai, the Institute of Technology in Thiruvananthapuram and before enrolling at Princeton University he received a NASA scholarship.

Nambi Narayanan was born on December 12, 1941 in Nagercoil in a Tamil family. He holds a Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering from his Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai. Nambi lost his father he is doing study in Madurai.

Nambi Narayanan Career:
Narayanan joined ISRO in 1966 as a technical assistant at the Thumba Equatorial Rocket Launching Station after studying mechanical engineering in Madurai. In 1969 he received a NASA grant and enrolled at Princeton University.
There he completed his master’s degree in chemical rocket propulsion under Professor Luigi Crocco. He returned to India with his knowledge of liquid propulsion at a time when Indian rocketry relied solely on solid propellants.
He wrote that he must teach Sarabhai about liquid propulsion technology. In 1974 ISRO agreed to transfer Viking engine technology from the Societe Europeenne de Propulsion in exchange for 100 man-years of engineering.
This move was carried out by his three teams, with Narayanan leading his team of 40 engineers in charge of acquiring French technology. The Government of India awarded him the Padma Bhushan Award on 26th January 2019.
